The STFC Food Network+ (SFN) invites proposals for Proof-of-Concept proposals that either build on the previous work undertaken by SFN Scoping Projects or that pursue new research applying STFC capabilities for use in food research and industry. Proposals must demonstrate significant impact potential (either via follow-on funding, social/environmental impact, and/or commercial application).

The projects can be up to 12 months in length and must be completed before the end of December 2023.

These projects must be relevant to the objectives of the STFC Food Network+:
  • To build an inclusive, dynamic, interdisciplinary network of researchers focused on innovative ways to use the skills and facilities funded by STFC.
  • To kickstart interdisciplinary collaborations and research projects working towards safe, sustainable food systems both in the UK and developing countries.
  • To enhance the impact of STFC/food interdisciplinary collaborations by encouraging codesign with the nonacademic sector

We aim to fund between 2-3 PoC projects for the 2022 call.

Contact: Gareth Crockett - SFN Coordinator - sfn@agrifoodinnovation.org

Eligibility Criteria
