The SFN+ World Food Day webinar series on agri-food innovations engaged with more than 100+ participants between the 11th and 14th October 2022. Following this, we launched Round 1 of the SFN+ Expert Working Groups. Following this, we launched SFN+ Expert Working Groups (EWGs) to carry forward the legacy of this network. These groups will help SFN+ migrate towards platform-as-a-service self sustaining model and we will continue to build partnerships to co-design consultancy and large research projects, design industry- and policy-relevant CPDs and deliver bespoke trainings.
The Expert Working Group on the Sustainable Cold Food Chain looks at the challenges of reducing food waste in a developing context, where the lack of a functional cold chain solution can be vital. It reviews the work of the SFN+ in this area, including the four scoping studies exploring opportunities with cold chain technologies. You can watch the video now on the SFN’s YouTube channel.
The Bioeconomy Expert Working Group has published a position paper, Food Systems Research to Positively Impact the Sustainable Bioeconomy and Transformation of Smart Food Systems – An Overview of Gaps and Future Research Agenda.
